Plants, whether they grow indoors or out, require the use of light to help them with their natural processes. Sure, you might be able to experience some growth and it can be an affordable alternative to HID lighting like high pressure sodium or metal halide. However, when you consider that one high pressure sodium bulb equal to 50,000 lumens compares to 10 T5 bulbs to create the same effect, it’s easy to see how and why these lights aren’t as effective as they could be.
